Fast Journal : Day 2

The first night was quite rough. Not because of hunger, but because of my aching jaw, which I suspect might be sore from the lack of using my masseters the entire day. Upon waking up, I did feel better as the soreness was gone and the sensation of hunger left me, during breakfast, at least.
Today, I went to work and I've felt no different than I usually would. As a matter of fact, if I were starving or feeling the sensation of hunger, I wouldn't have worked quite as efficiently or well as I had today. Patients/clients were not able to tell that I had been starving myself since yesterday, but it's only been a day after all.
At night, I have trouble sleeping as I hear my heartbeat pounding away and any light that seeps into my room distracts me. It may be the stress of not eating has heightened my senses and induced some sort of flight/fight response that has made me very aware of what's going on around me. If I continue to feel any discomfort, I may have to cut my fast short and end it on Thursday or Friday morning.
